I'd never been to Spain before now. It's warm and beautiful and I'm so totally happy to have had this chance to extend my summer. Thank you to Devendra Banhart for having me play drums in his super-group band for this European tour. Today we started practicing in Madrid, which we'll be doing for the next week before heading out in a bus and tearing up the Europes. Here are all of the dates we're playing and stay tuned for info for a possible YACHT show/afterparty after the Copenhagen show. BOOM!

It's so nice to see and play with Uncle Grizzle (Kyle Field) after missing him so much for a good amount of time. I've commissioned him to make a drawing on my laptop and record some music with me before the trip is over. He's playing bass on the tour, singing back-ups and playing a Little Wings song or two. I just met this nice guy Andy in Portland while he was on tour with his band Tussle and I'm really happy to get to know him better. He's sort of Devendra's right-hand man on guitar and harmonies. I'm telling you.. it's like an amazing hippy supergroup. I'm so in. Kyle showed up at our hotel room last night with this long sleeve tie-dye on and a huge smile on his big-bearded face. Everyone has a beard but me. I've also commissioned Kyle to make me a fake one I can wear at shows.

Adam and I sort of flew together and sort of didn't. I flew from Seattle so I could hang out with my special lady-friend in Olympia for one last day and Adam did the same, but in Portland. We met up at the Newark airport and tried to sit together on the plane to Madrid, but ended up sitting a few rows apart. FULL PLANE. I watched a couple bad movies, including The Stepford Wives, tried to sleep, then watched a bit of this NOVA special on string theory.

Yeah! Spain! I'm having so much fun!

Truly,
Jona

That NOVA blew my mind! I thought parallel dimensions were just a star trek thing...

String theory, like music, is all about vibrations. It makes so much sense on an intuitive level. Have a great tour!

Dude, the YACHT new sept jamz are AWESOME! so so good. Listening to them I am laughing and spazzing out and head bopping, then pressing repeat. I don't know if the Blazers will use them or not, but whenever anyone asks me what new music I like/am listening to I say "YACHT! The new Jamz! Best jamz ever."
