David Blaine your magic is real.

What an amazing return to my homeland. Portland, Oregon.. I love you so much. Could you be the perfect city? Maybe. I think you are very close, if not 100%. You are small and cozy but also sort of big with your river and bridges. I want to be real here though, it's my friends that make me love you so much.

I flew to Seattle via Newark via London on Friday. Continental. The flight to Newark wasn't so bad. Adam was a few seats down from me and I got to watch a few harmless movies on my personal screen in the back of the headrest. The flight to Seattle from Newark was 6 hours of turbulence and sniffles.. I think I got a little bit of a cold from the either the airport or the planes or something. Anyway, I got to Seattle where Amelia picked me up and drove me to Olympia. It's so nice to see this sweet lady. On Saturday we drove to Portland and I played such an awesome show at Holocene, a fancy venue in Portland sort of focused on electronic musics. The last show I played there was a YACHT & Lucky Dragons combined set opening for RATATAT and 1999. It was out of control. I'd never seen that many people at Holocene before and Luke and I had never had so much fun playing together. Saturday night totally had that feeling plus the added insane momentum of the Devendra tour..

The show was hot. I've never seen that many people dance at Holocene. Zac and Steve decorated the whole place like a crazy baby shower. IT WAS HOT. Here's a video from Amelia's camera from the Blow part of the show. I love the bear hat that Nis gave to me in Denmark. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL. I love, love, love playing shows with The Blow. DEEP JAMMZZZ.

Pregnancy Series Release Party
(2.2 MB - VIDEO MP4)

The show was a release party for the new EP I made with The Blow. I'm super proud of this new thing and I'm so happy to be in the Blow now. I like making music with Khaela. It's weird and hard and really fun. The story goes like this.. Steve Schroeder (States Rights Records) and Zac Pennington (Parenthetical Girls) decided to create a new series of limited-edition CD EPs all with some sort of theme throughout them.. the basic idea is for the artist to make an EP out of the regular working methodology, whether it's writing songs differently, writing songs about one theme, recording differently or all of those things combined. The new Blow EP is pretty much all of those things. Khaela wrote some songs in her head, sang them to me and described feelings/vibes of the songs, we recorded them together and I worked on some beats and stuff alone.

There are only 40 copies left of the CD. Buy them here.(SOLD OUT) K Records has just released the vinyl and is limited to 500 copies. Whiskers is on the back! WHISKERS IS ON THE BACK! Buy the vinyl here. Available on iTunes here.

I leave Portland on Wednesday to tour with YACHT and The Blow for the rest of October and all of November. I'm leaving Khaela in New York and YACHT is touring back through the south in December. Shows! Shows! Tour! Tour! Come and say hello. All the shows are listed here.

Great night. Got to meet so many wonderful people and it was a wacky treat getting to say hello to Khaela for the first time (even if she was expecting a girl ;) ) You totally flattened that one girl but she didn't mind....she just got staight back up.

After studying the videostream...it appears the fat head obscuring the proceedings is mine.....and for that i apologise.

Hey, Jona. Super psyched for the BLOW/YACHT show on Nov 11...It's at SUNY CORTLAND, though, not SUNY Stonybrook!!!! SUNY Cortland is 30 mins from Syracuse and 30 mins from Ithaca. It is the "Nasheville of the Northeast. Dig it.

Anyway, glad your tour with Devendra went so beautifully and the relase party n Portland sounds awesome. See you soon. Talk to you sooner with details, details, details, directions, stuff.
