NEWER UPDATE! The suitcase is there! It wasn't stolen! IT'S THERE!
EVEN NEWER UPDATE! Our "take-in" merch box was stolen. This is the box that was home to a compilation of a couple of every release, a couple t-shirts and our CDRs and CDR sleeves. SO LAME. I'm writing this from a Best Buy parking lot outside of Ottawa where there are new CDR sleeves and wireless internet.. weird.
So ying and yang, right? Light and dark, right? Last night was, hands down, the best show in Canada I've ever played. There were tons of people there, I got to see The Barcelona Pavilion, there was a good vibe in the air, we made good money, we sold tons of merchandise and most importantly we had so much fun! Immediately after the show I bought a veggie hot dog from this guy on the corner then drove over to Steve's house and fell fast asleep in probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in. Do you know about this foam stuff that conforms to your body shape? I have a pillow made out of it that I got for xmas from my brother a couple years ago.. AMAZING STUFF.
While we were sound asleep someone was outside fast at work going through my car and stealing what they thought looked nice or something. What's with my luck in Canada? I guess it's like this; we go through the border with so much damned merchandise, merchandise we're supposed to be taxed on, and we just breeze through without playing any taxes or having proper work permits.. Then we play an awesome show, like SO GOOD, and we make all of this Canadian money.. so like, we need to be punished or something, right? Isn't that how it works? So they stole my ProTools MBox ($500), Khaela's Oxygen8 Keyboard ($140), my cell phone ($?) and lastly, Khaela's bag full of irreplaceable art, trinkets and little personal things like unsent postcards she made and stuff. So lame. So sad.
There are two sides to every coin. Luckily today was a really nice day full of really nice stuff, all things considered. We woke up with Steven making us coffee and we hit China town pretty hard. My goal was to find a new phone that I could use with my service.. no luck with that. There's a real nice man I found on eBay that is going to help me out, though. Thank you to him! Steven took us all around Toronto and we ate some amazing food and hung out with awesome dudes.
Here's a movie with some old stuff, some new stuff, some Barcelona Pavilion and a little message to the kidnappers whom kidnapped our stuff. I forgot to mention my phone..

PS- We're not really mad at Ohio. We're mad at the electoral college system and the individuals that voted for that sack of stink of a president.
WIN THE BREAKFAST OF YOUR DREAMS! The breakfast of my dreams? Well, that's easy... Here it is:
1 large glass of fresh OJ
1 cup of toasted barley tea
1 cup of coffee with soymilk
1 tofu scramble with mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach
1 healthy portion of potatoes
1 small banana
2 vegan crepes with margarine and sugar inside.. all wrapped up.
Khaela made this drawing of my dream breakfast after reading about a contest of some sort on the cereal box. I love the way the Khaela draws. Here's another drawing that she made of me and some people around us at a restaurant in Oberlin, OH.
Make sure you check out the Blocks Recording Club and pick up some recordings.. if you're a fan of packaging, you'll really love this label. Also, if you're a fan of good music..
Our vibe is strong and more positive than a Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper.

apparently, canadian car thieves specifically target vehicles with american license plates because there's a good chance the people are travelling - this means 2 things:
1. they most likely (well... more likely than your local canadian driver) have valuables with them, and there's a chance they'll be in your car.
2. you're just visiting. the most you can do is file a police report, but you'll be leaving soon anyway. there's not much you can do.
this happened to me when i played in vancouver a couple of months ago - fortunately all that was in my car was a bag of food, a pocket mixer and a tow rope - all of which were stolen. going back through US ustoms with a broken window prompted questions and a small lecture from a customs agent that included the previous 2 points and also the fact that he sees the same situation EVERY SINGLE DAY. blech. sorry about the theft.
well at least now i dont' feel about about accidentally giving some sort of collection agency your phone number--they called me asking for you and i rattled off your number without thinking, then later i was like, "wait, that sounded like a weird collection agency." I texted you, you never replied, and NOW I SEE WHY. Man, am I out of the loop. P.S. I can not believe your car got broken into AGAIN in canada. Note to Jona: STAY OUTTA OTTAWA!! HA HA HA! That is really emo. I am so sad for the MBox, that is so expensive! GOD!
