Photo: Lex of The Hidden Cameras has an iPod mini with custom engraving that reads "Mean Daddy." I'd never seen engraving on the front... looks pretty awesome.

So far Montreal is, by far, the coldest place in the world on this tour. Last night we played here with The Hidden Cameras and it was totally fun. Khaela is continuing her "WIN THE BREAKFAST OF YOUR DREAMS" drawing series with Joel, whom was more than happy to give her a piece of his morning-time-mind. Just watch the video.. you'll see. Oh man, how could I forget about Fish-n-Ships? Why is that so funny to me? Pun or error? YOU DECIDE. Maggie and my new red paint-pen helped me make a new laptop design. Check it out. I should have been using color this whole time! The next step is tons of colors. I feel it. "NO DANISH SCANDALS" is in reference to Maggie's Scandinavian love trouble which I will be murdered for bringing up on the internet. UT OH!

Here's the longest movie yet.. Canada is big, right? HERE WE GO! BRING IT!

Thank you to the nice eBay man for just sending me a new phone without any sort of payment or anything. Seriously, what? So nice. I promise I will send you money when we get to New York. I'm still just blown away. Thank you to Steve Kado for hosting us in Toronto for two days through our kidnapping of materials. Thank you to David Barclay of Montreal for getting us on The Hidden Cameras show and taking us in for a couple days in Montreal. I had hung out with Maggie (ex-Barcelona Pavilion, now H. Cameras) in Seattle when the H.C.s came to town and loved their show and vibe so much. HARD PARTY.

Thanks to Justin Armstrong of Toronto for emailing me these photos from Saturday's show at CineCycle: BOOMBOX, GLOW, GHOST.

Tomorrow is a big day. We're driving to Cortland, NY where a pile of packages awaits us. I have a new phone, a new pair of jeans, a new map program (thank you to Steve Schroeder) and Khaela has a package from France on its way. YAY! It's sort of like our birthdays, or Christmas, or both.. which are all pretty close. Khaela's birthday is on the 15th! SO SOON! Make sure you email her and wish her well. My birthday is on the 2nd of December and I should be in Miami with Amelia by then.. if all goes according to plan. This just reminded me.. there was another thing stolen in Toronto that I just figured out about; my headphones. AGH! I traded a guitar amp for those headphones. Trade-up Music is a nice place, go there if you live in Portland and need music related equipment.

So with that, I present to you my newly revised birthday wish-list broken into two parts; the technology wing ($$$) and the regular wing ($). Thank you.

Oh yeah!! The package SHOULD BE on the way, leaving the french ground...
Except that Khaela forgot to give me Ariana's address. So Please, JONA, please, ask for it. I'm leaving on tour tomorrow, so i won't be able to send it until monday if i don't have it today.

Good tour and everything.
I have a lot of fun watching you.
The best TV ever.

Adam Forkner @ November 10, 2004 8:02 PM

I owe that to YOU. Hottest "move" ever.

Jona @ November 10, 2004 8:04 PM

The footy of Khaela singing Lola totally made me happy.
It made my heart hurt kind of.
I think it struck a chord, like maybe resonating with that part of a teenage crush where you're at a party and the person is over there singing along to a song, and happy. And you realize that probably they're totally happy without having a romantic relationship with you, and that they probably aren't going to change soon.
HEART HURT.
Beautiful though.
Crushes.

wow! "coldtown", huh? we drive there tomorrow...i better bundle up. jona it's so nice to finally get to see your travels again, after
being unable to tap into the matrix for so long...unlike ancient cities like ferrara in italy, where modern technology likes nothing BETTER than to work it's magic, evidently the city of brotherly love, philadelphia, could care less. soooo sorry of your travails within your travels, but i seem to recall you saying you didn't really like your mbox much anyway, so, what the hey. homemade, unsent postcards however, that's a shame. loads of bad karma there buddy. i miss you man...lovin TEAMYACHT though, as always. let me know when you hit "warmsville"!!!

ANDY @ November 11, 2004 1:16 AM

your video is always so compelling. khaela sneezing, change machines singing. the live photos are rad as well, need more footage of the yacht afloat.

matthew @ November 11, 2004 6:49 AM

do you know about these "business" minidisks that have also little speakers inside them so you can listen back right off the bat? that's my style. also, jona, adam, no discussion on the origin of moves. no credit. no debt. moves are free and without parent or purpose. let them be.

business dragons @ November 11, 2004 11:13 AM

i talk you down to the depths of the eternal mother's earth
these United States of Deception
my breasts
my womb
your tomb
i sip your $3 lattes and remember a time
before history
or is it just my story
and dream of natives' rejoice
