Okay.. you forget little details and then they come to you. I forgot that I had brought my video projector on this tour. We hadn't been using it at all and I had planned to used it once Amelia flew out and the MEGA tour started. We were going to make movies and cartoons together and project them at the shows.. then Toronto. My phone, my MBox, Khaela's bag of irreplaceable things... and my video projector. That was $1000. FUG. I have only had a significant amount of money in my life ONCE. This was last year and it was from making a mnemonic device for a alternative directory assistance company called Infone. Long story. Anyway, that job is the reason I have a car and a laptop and the reason I used to have an MBox and a video projector. Shim-shams.
Well, that's that. There's nothing I can do about it and it's just stuff anyway. My life isn't any worse without those things.. I mean, the phone is sad and a total inconvenience, I miss Amelia a whole lot and I don't get to talk to her as often. Luckily Katy and Khaela have phones I can use sometimes.
Let's get into details.
5 days ago Katy met up with us in Boston and the thunder jams started right up. I love my new friends Jan and Viennna! We drove to Providence and visited that deep, dark hole. That was scary and very interesting at the same time.. that's a feeling I'm little unaccustomed to. I love Luke. I love playing combined YACHT/Lucky Dragons sets with Luke. I love hanging out with Luke. I love the coconut/soymilk coffee that Luke made. DAMN. We played a very awesome long jam session on Brown University's BSR radio station. Unfortunately something happened to their archive server and it wasn't recorded.. so if you taped it off the radio, we totally want a copy! My computer wouldn't start up for about 45 minutes right before the show in Providence.. I was so scared it wasn't going to start up at all. I asked this nice semi-crusty dude to rub it and it started up 2 minutes later.
Oh Providence.. you are so full of energy and love. Luke's girlfriend Sarah had beds made for us when we got home! Not just beds, but beds with Reese's on the pillows! The next "morning" we rolled over to a brunch with jewels.

Guess who's back? KRITZ KRACKERS, that's who!! YAY! We got a little lost on our way to Poughkeepsie, NY, where the beautiful Vassar College hangs out in existence. Obviously it was so good to see Kyle again after pretty much living with the dude in Europe for a month. I played drums for the Little Wings set after having a really, really fun YACHT show. Man, Vassar kids are crazy and so energetic. When Khaela and I played everyone knew the words to the songs and were singing along like nuts. It was so much fun. Thank you so much Chris for the perfect Poughkeepsie experience! Thank you Kyle and Lee for being so amazing. LOVE YA, LOVE YA EVERY DAY.
This is getting too long. That reminds me of our pizza-ordering experience at Vassar. One thing after the other.. robots? Dice? Wha? Kritz? CHECK THIS OUT:

I have two new submissions to the cat gallery for you. Ladies and gentleman please meet the most friendly and beautiful little kitten from Providence.. Luke has yet to name the little dude. Then there's Ida from Brooklyn, a little soft lady that woke me up snuggling. What a cat. BOTH OF THEM! Amelia thinks I should put all the cat gallery cats together. I think she is right. I'll make a proper cat gallery very soon.
I'm going to leave you with an apology and some photos from last night. Here's the deal; somehow we were double-booked last night. We drove to Philadelphia so excited to chill out, check out some thrift-stores, eat some Ethiopian food and play an in-store at Marvelous Records. We got to the record store and Khaela checked her email. BOOM! She found out we were supposed to be playing in Amherst, Massachusetts at Amherst College.. right then. Khaela scrambled over to us entirely disheveled and told us the news.. Katy and I jammed three songs or so and we all ran to the car and drove to Amherst as fast as we could while remaining safe and comfortable. We got to the show at 11:30, three hours after its advertised time, to a small, but loving, crowd of kids. Thank you to Rich in Philly for understanding and to Khira for setting up the show in Amherst.
Amherst photos: What was I pointing at? Magical hippo, sing to the people. I made a new t-shirt dedicated to the new unicorn, the new rainbow.. DOGS (adult dogs). I was so excited about my new coat. Khaela said I looked like a member of NKOTB.
Philadelphia kids: We are so sorry. Thank you, SO MUCH, for coming to the in-store. We were so excited to see so many of you out to see us. This will not go unnoticed. We are returning to Philly on Monday the 22nd to play a show for you. We will bring such huge effing positive vibes to you that you won't know what the EFF to do with them. LOVE, that's what. We're bringing love and uninhibited dance-rays to you. We're playing at the Happy Home Recordings House. It's a house show. THAT MEANS MEGA FUN PARTY DANCE VIBES! (1853 N. Howard Street) Check out the LIVE part of this site for more info. Again, sorry. AH! That link was broken! SEE, THE DETAILS DO COUNT!
As far as expenses go.. we're in Amherst getting new brakes for $490 right now. THIS TOUR IS A MONEY PIT! I think once all said and done we'll be okay..
and if you somehow miraculously track down a copy of that radio show, definitely lemme know! godspeed!
Jona!
We will have to keep pushing W+K to get you another music gig so we can get that shit replaced!
J.Lowe
yay! new live jams and an unholy game of D&D dice throwing (i hope there was money involved).
sorry to hear about the projector. don't let them steal your spirit.
Jona,
That news is terrible. I hate losing stuff. I lost some mic stands recently and it ticked me off hard... and those are only about $15. I'm sorry about the gear. Man. Crap.
I'm glad to see the dice throwing trend continues. Surface of YYYYYCYYYYonnn had a lot of fun making music based dice throwing. Now I feel validated. Keep having fun!!! Wish you were coming through CT!!!! Next time!!!!!!
Also, let me know if you're gonna drive through CT. Maybe we could meet up for a meal or something? My treat!
dear jona, come back to providence! forever!!!!!!!!! guarunteed candy, coca cola, and babies babies babies!
Oh JONA! YOU JUST RETURNED MY AMP. thanks a bunch. Seeing you again made me remember how much I missed the 3 of you and how amazing that boston/providence week was. I wish we could replace your video projector. ;(
It's rad to see our street in yr video, i won't lie, it made me giddy. take care and have a fun, safe journey on the remainder of your tour!
