What happened? How did I get so behind? I guess all of this driving and the lack of internet totally explains it. I'm going to make this one big entry for everything before Florida and after we dropped Katy off at the airport in New York City. New York City? Pace picante sauce you'll always be on my mind. Oh wait.. what about Philly? What about D.C.? AH! Okay, we'll start there. You saw us when we hit TRB™ and were all tripped-out. Remember? Yeah, that was Philly. I love my Wrists & Pistols. I love Will and Brendan so much. Thank you to Daniel for putting on a show in his warehouse home. It was real nice to meet Mandarin Dynasty and Hugh J. Good kids! They joined us the next day in D.C., which was our last show with Katy. Thank you to Will for letting us stay in your empty apartment in Philly after our show in D.C. Your shower is nice.
Amelia and I spent such an amazingly mellow and loving Thanksgiving together in Kittery, Maine where her Mom lives. Her Dad lives right across the Piscataqua river in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, so we got to spend time with him as well. I couldn't have met better parents.. for reals. Ellen, Amelia's Mom, made some of the best food I've ever eaten. Seitan roast, blueberry/cranberry/rasin pie, quinua soup, all kinds of crazy and amazing food. We drank Silk Soy Nog and took it real easy for a couple days. It really felt so home-y and warm to me. Thank you so much for everything! AHHHH!
We drove to Baltimore a couple days after Thanksgiving for a house show. Of course traffic was incredibly crazy and we were stuck for hours.. twice.. once in the morning, then once in the evening. Khaela had been staying in New York and decided to take a bus to Baltimore to get there early.. which totally didn't happen because of the same traffic we got stuck in. We ended up rolling to the show and people started cheering as soon as we walked in. The show was crazy. There were so many people dancing that the floor started to bend and we had to move it down to the basement. There was a spider on the ground so I played holding the laptop up above ground. Totally scary.
After the show we felt wrecked from the driving. We ate some amazing homemade applebutter with bread and drank some tea before driving as far as we could towards Athens before crashing in a cheap motel. When we were in the motel the next morning I noticed that there was a movie on my camera I didn't remember taking.. someone had picked it up when I wasn't in the room and couldn't figure out how to use it, thus making one of the best movies I've ever seen! Check it out!

So then we drive to Athens. It's a very long drive from Baltimore. Khaela gets pumped and drives for something like 8 hours... she hits traffic again. What? Traffic? Why? Where are you people going? We play a super-fun show.. last show together.. We didn't make any money, we actually lost money getting there, but we wouldn't have seen these amazing girls dance to Hey Ya! if we hadn't... that's just how it goes.

Hey Athens!

That's where I'm going to stop today. Tonight I'll tell you about Charleston, South Carolina and my improv haircut. Then I'll tell you about Atlanta, Georgia. Then Florida.. one whole entry for that dude. We have sold internet for the next two days, so I'll make sure these posts actually happen.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN. Sorry we couldn't talk more when you were lost in traffic. the bone transplant seems to have taken hold. Unfortunately, I'm still on the waiting list for a brain transplant.
Love,
Dad
it was so good having you in athens! i am sorry that you guys lost money playing for us, but tight pockets' donation policy is not very good. too many kids come to shows for free.
and, yes, the impromptu 'hey ya!' danse party at the grill afterwards was fabulous. totally made it worth it having to leave the show early and work.
come back soon!
hey jona, when are you and yours coming back to chapel hill. we can hook up a better promoted show (with an appropriate local) than the last one yall did at nightlight (birdman, lucky dragons, yacht, et al). bring khaela this time.
Jona & Amelia,
Jona: Happy Belated Birthday Hutzvah!
Amelia: You are pretty.
Make merry, guys! Make a merry.

hey i think that the dancing girls had to of been at the grill in downtown athens?
