Photo: Singing with the band Feathers from Vermont. Oh, and that cute little Andy, too.

Hello from Bearsville! It's been pretty hairy here, guys. It started off all mellow and simple and almost dreamy. Devendra's Dad Loring made (and still makes) the yummy food. Honey baked two delicious apple pies. Now it's crazy-busy and we're up to our necks in "overdubs" and "music," whatever that means... There are all kinds of incredibly fancy microphones and mixing consoles and headphone amps, etc. Adam and I hit the tape pretty hard (buried the needle, dudes) and pretty fast. Today we've been shaking shakers and other miscellaneous percussion things and watching some cable television in the upstairs part of the studio. Guys, they even have wireless internet here. Check this out: there was a spider hanging out and I didn't even get scared of it.

Oh, so you want a sneak peak at some new jams, huh? You want to see some studio interiors with one hand on the headphones with eyes shut and soulful singing, huh? You want to see a dunk contest?Well, okay. I give you:

So that photo up there at the top.. Those Feathers! What nice people they are.. and incredibly talented, too. They have sugary-sweet maple syrup voices all stuck together like little angels. I think they'll have a record out sometime soon. I heard some stuff of theirs that sounded real good. Five syncopated cheers and four rings of sage-smoke for these new friends.

Oh man, we rented these really nice drums from this amazing dude named Victor Russo. He played with Alice Cooper and stuff. He rented us some 1940s Gretch drums. If you're ever around Kingston, NY and you need drums or whatever, check this dude out. He can hook you up.

Truly,
Jona

Deep Tundra, man. That was like a promotional video for Falun Gong or something. Huddleup home style warmth in the north. Though, Forkner looked real bored with the talking drum!

Southern Number Three, Ethereal Drummms, Jona you rip some skins, bro.

What's that little tablet that Devendra uses for lyrics? It's like the Golden Tablets of the book of Mordom or something. You know, those were found in the woods in upstate NY! Creepy!
