These three people have made our time in France really, really amazing. I'm posting tons of photos on Flickr, which you are welcome to check out.
I left Amelia and the USA from Newark on a plane to Paris. I watched a movie I can't remember a single detail about and then I watched "Hitch" starring the Fresh Prince. I expected to hate it and I didn't hate it. I arrived jet-lagged, hungry and feeling like I couldn't possibly wait 6 and a half hours for Khaela to get in and take the train to Bordeaux with me. I bought a phone card and some fig bar things from the newspaper shop. Turns out the phone card was intended for use in France, to French numbers only.. I spent all €15 on one two-minute message to Amelia's voicemail.

Where am I? What am I doing here? How did this happen? I'm magically in the south of France. I swam in the ocean.. The sun kissed my skin and now I'm a little golden. We drove for an hour and ended up in the countryside with Melanie's Mom and her husband Serge, whom happen to be some of the nicest people in France. They made us salads and pasta and invited us to swim in their perfect pool. Oh, speaking of perfect, I just learned that parfait means perfect. I've only know this word to be a mash-em-up of some sort of sweet sauce and some sort of creamy thing like yogurt or ice cream. I tip my hat to DQ's "Peanut Buster Parfait." It's sort of mind-blowing to go from thinking of a mildly trashy frozen confection to PERFECT. That's really what our time in Villeneuve De Marsan was.. perfect.

I hopped on this tour with Mirah, Anna Oxygen, Calvin Johnson, Tender Forever, Squeeze Me I Squeak, and The Blow. I wasn't really planning on coming, but it just made sense. I'm in The Blow.. I did! I totally saw her and she blew my mind! It was weird to see so many people from the US in Bordeaux. It was also so awesome! I didn't see her after the show, though.. she must have hated it!
