This will be the moment when you learn how to shine.
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN': Once you're in Phoenix you're golden. The sun stays on your shoulder until you reach something like Medford, Oregon. Then the clouds swallow you and you gasp for light. After that you stay hidden in grey for a minute before you realize that the sun actually loves Portland and shines almost brighter in the winter. Sure it gets epically dark and sad here, but when it's cold as all dog shit, the air is crisp, and the winter sky is clear; it is a remarkably superior city to any in this grand nation. So California was pretty cool. Who is DJ George Castanza? God only TROLLS. Dude ripped us sweetly with his master hands on the magic dekkz of sound (that means he is a crappy DJ) No, George I'm only kidding you hard-style, you are my extreme black lab-y homie. Did you know that STONEHENGE is in San Diego now? Yeah, me too, I was just checking.
LOS ANGELES IS BORING. Just because you offer up a million things to do and a million friends to hang out with does not mean you are a fun city. Oh, it does? Los Angeles is cool! There are a million things to do and a million friends to hang out with! Ritchey lives there! Ritchey! The only person I know to have had a very, very, very strong and vocal distain for this massive sprawl. I heard about some other people planning to move there, too. When I play and win the lottery I will move there, I promise. Or I'll just sleep with Rob in his garage. I would seriously be happy either way; who else can blow bubbles like that? If I were rich like my awesome friend Annie O'Malley I would stay.
Little kid rave!? Berkeley, totally Berkeley! Happy birthday to sweet Alina and thanks for having us in your house and backyard! I'm sorry that the cops came, but ultimately it ended up ruling so hard with Eats Tapes in the living room, hence the little kid rave! Why and how are Eats Tapes literally the best and nicest band and people ever? I don't even know, it just makes my brains hurt when I think about it, but in the hurting way that makes me excited to eat mint Newman-O's.
Sacramento was the end. The end of the tour, the end of our extensive non-stop jokes, jokes, jokes and loving, caring, and listening session with Rob, and the end of our timeshare. Ying and yang, dude. When something dies, something else is born. Ski is totally lucky! I think Eric and Rob might start having people mail in their laptops for permanent or semi-permanent drawing jams. Would you? Tell me and I'll build a website for them. COMMENTS!
Rob, Eric..

I Miss You

You may or may not have noticed that I've fallen in love with my cat again. Just to clarify, she is a she, and she's 19 years young. Her name is Whiskers and your cat(s) can be friends with her via this pretty amazing website called Catster. I can't believe I just wrote a link to effing Catster! This is what touring too long does to you; you get home and become incredibly comfortable in staying at home and making internet profiles for your cat. Trust me, if you ever go on tour, you'll see. Even if you don't have it cat.. happens every time. Weird, right?
Here are the things I've done since I've been home that you can view on websites. What do you call these things? Resume? MO? Modus operandi. Nerd-stuff?
I LIVE IN PORTLAND, OREGON
My friend Rachael Jensen came over and we played Scrabble. Mike won. He prefaced the game with something like "I don't like playing this game and I will loose." What a shark.
Whiskers received a hat in the mail, thank you deeply Claire.
Steve and I went to see Kevin Blectum and our minds were blown. Kevin and Planningtorock killed it. If I can ever create this feeling for someone after one of my shows.. that's when I have made it, dudes. That's when I'll quit... or make more stuff.
I built a dream fort and decided to curate an art show sort of loosely based on the fort, i.e. hanging out, aka Whisker's bedroom, i.e. what I've done for the past year, i.e. I love my friends and all of the things they make so much. Nocturnal, December 2nd. You should come.
I took Whiskers to get her nails did.
I had a total and complete blast playing heavy metal drums with Phil for a Mount Eerie show.
I was part of a crack-job rag-tag group of underachiever scientists that "researched" some candy from Turkey.
I'm so totally excited for my birthday and for the "25" show. Stay tuned for more info on that. I'll make sure it is well documented because that is sort of what I do and what this website is all about. December 2nd, guys, "D2."
I wish I could come to the 25 show! Unfortunately I live in Phoenix. Fortunately I got to see you when you [and the rest of Broze Own] came! Fantastic!
Also, my grandfather loves turkish delights. There's a special South African kind, I think.
Take care!
No, Nocturnal is mostly just a space you can rent out for events. I rented it for this VERY special night.
hi jonns
i got you a pretty sweet present in Taipei. Taipei is amazing, it's like a sweet tropical humid chinese/japanese/french dream fort steamed bun pocket where all the food is cheap and the 7 11 have soy milk and seaweed pockets. i mean, i guess you've been to japan, but taipei is cheap. there are massive hot springs all over the place.
seems as though i can't take place in D2? bums dudes. i can at least come. i could do that.
yeah, for serious, what happened to rachel's arm????

I already draw on my laptop, but an E*Rock/Ramsey Parker jam would be sweet. I don't know about sending my laptop in the mail though..... maybe the next time I'm in Portland we can set up an appointment?!?!?!? If I don't work on D2, maybe I'll come down party/drawing jam?
