YOU CAN DO IT ALL

I found this little inspirational person in my bathtub after I left Khaela and Mirah in my apartment to meet up with Mike to make a "conference call" with a big-time employee at the big-time advertising agency in town. These days meetings and conference calls sort of seem normal to me and it's all because of a reality show.

Last year the aforementioned Mike, Steve, and I created a project called ULTIMATE BLOGGER and it quickly became the biggest project that we had ever worked on, both as group and individually. We made a reality show, website, blog, and 10 video episodes that presented our contestants with blogging challenges that they answered with entries on a public blog that we built for them. It's like reality TV that you can directly interact with via commenting and viewing the entries "go live" in realtime. Here's the formal description, or "WHAT IS THIS?" from the Ultimate Blogger website:

Ultimate Blogger is a fast paced 4-week competition between 12 internet pundits from around the world, all locking horns and braving carpal tunnel syndrome to win a $1,000 dollar prize package and the title of the internet's best blogger. Each week, the game's hosts, Steve Schroeder and Mike Merrill, will issue challenges to the bloggers in the form of compelling video segments, that must be interpreted and fulfilled as triumphantly as possible, then posted into Ultimate Blogger's central battle arena -- "The Den." The contestant with the best blog entry each week will be granted immunity and a safe passage to the next round. The remaining bloggers, however, will have to vote one unlucky contestant out of the game, and off the Internet -- forever.

Well, we're doing it again. Ultimate Blogger 2 has officially started today. I'm already so excited! Comments are rolling in, there are now 13 contestants after a controversial eBay auction that allowed the high bidder to buy their way onto the show.

This is going to get crazy. I'm excited for the seat of my pants video shooting and editing and the countless hours of time I'll be spending with Mike and Steve. Check out Ultimate Blogger 2 and get sucked in!

Here's a compilation of "outtakes" or "mis-takes" from the teaser and first challenge videos I've made with Mike, Steve, and last year's winner and Ultimate Blogger, James Voges:

I'm back in New York again, this time with my truest/deepest Claire for a handful of shows here on the east coast as part of a tour with two authors and the founder of Clear Cut Press. I've never been on or heard of a tour like this before and it's pretty exciting to me. The tour was setup around MoMA's PS1 asking Rich (Rich Jensen, Clear Cut father figure) to put together a show for their new Fine Print series. PS1 blew my mind. I felt pretty overwhelmed with how large the museum is... it's a museum! I played a show in a museum! That in itself was incredibly overwhelming to me. I'm really excited about Claire as a performer, for sure. I think that we're going to make some new stuff together that will be really exciting. Now we have to go to Providence and do a show in some hoity-toyti cafe that I've never heard of.

NEW! Oh, I made an hour long radio show/mix for PS1's internet radio station, WPS1. It's airing a bunch of times this week, and beyond, I think. Check out the schedule and look for "PS1 Exhibitions: Hour of Power by Clear Cut Press." Playlist and info here. Listen to WPS1 in iTunes here.

Thank you to everyone that has made everything so nice in the world.

Bones, I just found an interview with you where he asks about the TBK opera and then asks if YACHT is planning any type of concept show or opera, and you say that you are planning a concept album and stage show and then you start describing it and then one realizes you are describing the plot of Harry Potter. I laughed so hard and loved you so much! Then I called Andrew and he laughed too. Then he said, "everyone in the world is now better off for having heard this story."
