MR. ME TOO

Holy shit... Claire and I heard one of the best songs either of us have heard in a long time last night on the radio. My favorite rap group, Clipse, has a new single out called "Mr. Me Too" and I'm linking it right here, ya'll. Download it. Pump it. I'm mildly surprised that, 1.), these dudes have a MySpace page, and 2.), they let you download the track both from MySpace and on their site clipsemusic.com; this makes me like Clipse even more than I did before, which was a lot. I feel like they are being cooler about "the music game" than any other dudes at their level. We Got It 4 Cheap is so amazing. You can order it by emailing this dude soulprovider@gmail.com (a totally weird way to order some CDs, but the "official" way to do it as posted on MySpace). Man, man, man. I'm stoked on Clipse. GET STOKED ON CLIPSE:

So I'm in Los Angeles again! It's magic. Claire and I have been dating for 4 days short of 6 months and it's been hell being away from each other. Ultimate Blogger 2 is done (sort of) and I'm back into my normal jittery pattern of freelance design work, working on video and music projects like crazy, recording new songs with Khaela for the new Blow record, and traveling all around presenting this junk. UB2 took so much out of us that we all decided to take vacations; me to LA and Claire, and Steve and Mike to Las Vegas. Almost immediately after stepping off the plane from Portland to Burbank and hugging Claire, we decided to drive to Vegas and surprise the crap out of the homies and make a joke about the two of us getting married. The last few times I've been to Las Vegas I didn't really like it... you could even say I HATED it. This time was different. Steve was in incredible form and Claire and I POUNDED VEGAN DONUTS thanks to a little tip from Rebecca. Mike, Steve and I bought matching swim shorts and we spent an afternoon very traditionally horsing around in a pool before heading back to LA. TIGHT CREW. VEGAS RULEZ BABY.

Speaking of presenting junk, I'm playing a show here in Los Angeles on Saturday, the 8th of April at my deeply inspirational friend Matt Chambers' new space as part of his project Trudi. Dude has been blowing my mind with his skate videos from 2004/2005 and his new shirts and zines that come together. The show on the 8th is also the debut of my shirt design for Trudi... you'll be able to buy it here when it's ready.

On that tip I'm actually, really, seriously making shirts this week to put up in the souvenirs section of this web station. Also on that tip, MEGA is almost SOLD OUT. That makes me STOKED. New record in 2006, guys. I have half of it done. It'll be a DVD/CD combo with some special printing tricks and 1,000 tracks of alternate audio and commentary. EAT IT.

CHECK OUT THIS WEIRD JAM THAT ROB, MATT, CLAIRE AND I DID ONE NIGHT IN CHINATOWN: Zooman Team (4:42 - 5.2MB MP3)

Truly,

This song is totally a hybrid of "Drop It Like It's Hot" and "The Carnival." I mean that affectionately.

From Pitchfork today:

Starting this year, October 31 will no longer be known as Halloween. No, from now on, it will go down in history as the day that Clipse's long-overdue, highly anticipated, potentially earth-shattering second album, Hell Hath No Fury, is finally going to be released. At least that's what Jive Records is telling us right now. But you know how things go with hip-hop release dates.

A couple of lucky Pitchfork staffers heard Hell Hath No Fury, which was produced completely by the Neptunes, this week. They say there's "nothing close to filler" and it's "the best rap album of the year." That's all we're allowed to say about it right now, though.

Get familiar!

I spent months listening to We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 2, and it's still awesome. I'm stoked for the new album
