KANCHO PONCHO ONE

Archived From: Monday, April 17, 2006 @ 11:17 AM

MY SHIT IS BROKES

I kicked in my laptop screen.

I'd never really hurt my computer before last night... I've played something like, I don't know, 500 YACHT shows since 2002 and I've dropped my laptop, bumped it, kicked it, slid it across the floor, but not once has it failed me or been truly damaged. I toured with my old PowerBook without fault for a couple years until its optical drive broke and made it really hard to start up the machine. I gave it away to Flint, which was similar to donating organs to science. I miss the PowerBook keyboard; my favorite keyboard both in the desktop and laptop world of all time. I hope that both Apple makes a 12" MacBook Pro soon and that I have enough money to buy it.

I'm not taking a lot of video on this trip because a very special surprise guest is on tour with us and has taken on the task of creating "the greatest tour video ever." I'll give you a hint... his first name is MA*TT and his last name is CH**BERS. Stay tuned for a DVD release. Until then...

OOPS!
(8.1 MB - VIDEO MP4)

Laptop ruining aside, I'm having an awesome time back in New York for the third time this year. The Kancho Poncho tour is nothing but jokes, jokes, jokes, and fun. Having Matt around is radical. I'm stoked on the idea of him coming on the big Blow tour and filming junk.

If you have an extra 12" laptop screen or know some secret way to get it repaired for free... please let me know.

Hang loose.

Truly,
Jona

Oh that sucks. But bully for being there with your foot in the air, and god isn't a fucked up LCD screen really kind of pretty anyway?

Hope you get a new screen somehow. Or something like this?

Marcus @ April 17, 2006 12:38 PM

Im am truly sorry that that took place. I sincerly hope that God works his majestic hand and, long and behold, grants you an identical or newer computer that you can work with.

You are rad.
What a lad.
...that was bad..

Mikey @ April 17, 2006 6:19 PM

Hey Jona, just wait a bit...by the end of may they are realeasing just the "macbook" that will come in dual core and single core. single core will be sub $1000 and dual core im guessing will be around 1300. But you should get it...im gonna try to. it will be 13 and a half inches. I love the macbook pro's but i think they are a little too big. I love your work. -Lucien

Alissa Anderson @ April 18, 2006 10:05 AM

james @ April 18, 2006 11:27 AM

Jona,
Contact John Barnum, Gary's brother, by way of microdocusa.com. He'll totally hook you up. Once, a long while ago, I smashed guitars and Marshall amps. I know what it means to kick something you love.

Judging by the picture, it looks like you've kicked a passageway into the universe.

Din @ April 19, 2006 10:28 AM

Hi Jona,

How are you. I'm sorry that you kicked in your screen. maybe time to pick up the drumsticks again. hey dude, i'm turning 40 this friday night, and i'd like to invite you to my birthday party. you'll have to contact eugenia eugenia at eugeniapardue dot com, to find out where because she refuses to tell me. i've also invited mr. reed, but who knows if he'll show.

sam pardue @ April 19, 2006 8:12 PM

too bad about that screen jona.. . . . . .

sam pardue @ April 19, 2006 8:15 PM

I just made a ton of video junk for this video festival I'm playing on Friday in Houston and the Universe hole in this screen was pretty annoying, but didn't prevent me from getting stuff done. I think I'm just going to wait it out until the new MacBook/iBook or 12" MacBook Pro arrives.

MY SCREEN IS A FRACTAL.

Jona @ April 19, 2006 8:38 PM

hi jona. I would like to ask if I can use your "rave or die"-drawing for a t-shirt print? just the one for myself, nothing big or anything.
and then I would like to let you know about this girl called heidi mortenson (http://www.myspace.com/heidimortenson), I came across her, and she reminded me of the blow a bit.

Hey Dude
I've tried to send you a message but I suck at using a computer. It keeps telling me that the message is not being sent. Give me a call some time so we can bullshit. #602-626-8949. I'll be home tonight around midnight or I'm sometimes home on the weekends. I can't believe you still have the one eyed cat. Grape Soda!
