OUR FRIENDS IN HELL

The past couple days were deeper computer days. On top of always working on tour planning, press junk, and MySpace maintenance, I made a new logo for States Rights Records and if that wasn't enough, Steve and I spent just about two days straight making the brand new States Rights website! And now here I am using the computer even more to document the process for future me so I don't forget how much goddamned work is involved in making these websites. Steve and I were out the door and in the bar across the street almost immediately after the site "went live" and we fixed a couple "bugs." My joke-turned-reality was that I was going to order ANY drink that featured something infused in it. I got a Dragonlady, the contents of which I've forgotten, minus the INFUSED chili oil alcohol. I followed that with a High Life and, let me tell you, the whole experience was just that. I'm living the High Life over here, guys. Two drinks and I'm at least 7 to 8 sheets to the wind. Can I get a "HELL YEAH!" for low tolerance?

One of the many catalysts for making Steve a new site for SRR was the release of my new YACHT remix CD, "Our Friends In Hell." It's a compilation of remixes I've made over the past 4 years, and two super special bonus tracks, one brand new YACHT song off of my upcoming full-length record, and one song I helped produce and record for the awesome upcomers The World Court. The best thing about Our Friends In Hell is that it doesn't listen like a compilation or a remix record, it totally plays like an album. Thanks to Greg Davis for his mastering help and enthusiasm about the album!

Here's a Mirah remix I made for her remix album Joyride that's also on Our Friends In Hell:

The first 100 orders get a FREE POSTER and a FREE STICKER. The poster and the CD artwork were made by my friend Mehdi of Shobo Shobo and I love it so, so, so much. So much that I broke the rule of feeling totally weird with having a YACHT poster up in our apartment. Check out the tracklist, buy it, and get the free sutff HERE.

Thanks to the people on the CD for asking for remixes! I loved making every one of these and I hope that it comes across through the songs. I can't wait for this process to be somewhat reversed when I start getting remixes for the new YACHT songs!

i just ordered it, i hope i am in time to get the poster! and that SRR will send it all the way to new zealand.

also, the link to shoboshobo on this page http://www.statesrightsrecords.com/shop/SRRVA.html# is missing the dot com bit, which is a shame, coz it is a site well worth checking out.

I am impressed that Greg Davis helped in the mastering of the album, I really like his electronic work. One of my favorite composers.

Will be getting that cd soon, so save me a poster!

Will they be available at roturre tonight?

David @ March 3, 2007 9:01 AM

HELL YEAH! I love that you got drunk on fancy infused crap. And that you're a lightweight. It's SO easy to make your own infused alcohol...I made some ginger-infused vodka and let me tell you, it was the jam!

Alissa Anderson @ March 4, 2007 12:15 PM

Being a lightweight is the key to my inner castle, so props up to you, Jona.

A good number of my friend's heads exploded when i played them "our freinds in hell". they thought they didn't like electronic music that wasn't missy elliot. it was a good thing.

anyway, i am probably the last person to point this out, but i thought y'all should know that the archives button here goes to a totally wierd mixup of the new SRR site (which is, by the way, awesome) and the actual archive page. figured when that happens to my site i like to know..
