SXSW is a deeper trip. Why don't you take the next week off, guys. You're all working so hard.
I would like to officially announce my cavernous and undying love and passion for the band, The Dirty Projectors. Chances are if you're reading this blog, you've heard of them. They've been touring a lot recently, first with Grizzly Bear, and now with Hella, two bands that probably put on great shows but no way in all of heaven or hell are even close to being as remarkably fucked up, engaging, powerful, or brilliantly dynamic as these 4 humans. I'm no music writer, but trust me on this one. Their next record is going to hit hard, brothers. I know, I know, we live in a very conservative time right now, and conservative art is the most popular, but fuck that, this is what we need and this is what I WANT.

I just did a feature for Dusted that's a top 10 list of some of the music that has inspired me throughout my life. Some of it is super embarrassing, and some of it I still love very deeply. Check it out.
Shhh...you can pre-order my new album RIGHT NOW! I'm so excited to share this music with you, guys! Here's a button:
i am going to not get coffee at ALL this week so that i can make up for buying this record RIGHT THIS SECOND. oh man i am so excited. i love me some yacht.
whoo whoo. dave/dirty projectors is a mad creative talent. cant wait to hear what he does next. i think he deserves to get more recognition definitely.
can't wait to get the new one
any plans for a vinyl release of the new album?
also does anyone know if the sticker that came with our friends in hell is water/ weather proof?
I concur with your DP call. Every time I have to explain to somebody in England how so much of the "rock" or "indie" music here is bland, boring, and conservative, I give the Dirty Projectors as a counter example of a group that is pushing against musical boundaries and doing something deeply interesting and engaging. Yay! Also just ordered your new album. doubly exciting.
i have to do those mail orders, so i'll get on them as soon as curtis tells me to.
he mentioned it to me, though.
dirty p's pic at the bottom. jona i introduced myself at this show. they were the most inspiring music i have seen in many years. i couldn't believe it. we filmed it. will let you know when it is posted. nathan gave me the new tussle 7" with your b-side. me likey. hi5, adamc.
Sorry Edward, I didn't mean for you to get shit on ! I'm just very very very excited about the Dirty Projectors and I wanted to make note that they aren't an opening act.
NO HARD FEELINGS?
also i heard that LCD soundsystem song that used the same kraftwerk bass line, but did you hear what they did? they switched up the last note-that's exactly what i said you should do, so i guess its good that you didn't listen, although i wouldn't have used the same note, and cut it differently...
i just finished blasting "i believe in you. your magic is real" on my stereo. it came in the mail today. thanks again, jona.
Whoa! I just got your new album in the mail today! So good! "Your Magic Is Real" is the best shoutout song I've ever heard. Hands down.
Thank you, YACHT! Thank you, Marriage!
